I have noticed that people in my choir really irritate me. There is a reason why musicians are seen as snotty, selfish and condisending folk. The reason, in my opinion, would be because they are. Musicians think they are the best so the rest of the world need to bow to them. Personally, I think those musicians suck!! For example; The Oakland University Chorus is attempting to perform a piece called Gloria that is in 7/8 time. This is not the easiest time signature because you have to know exactly when to feel it in 2 and when to feel it in 3. Now these so called, "experts" were still getting simple rhythms WRONG!! We have gone over this song at least 4 times a week. Not only were they incorrect about the rhythms but, and this is what really urks me, they were wwwwaaaayyyy out of tune. Now perhaps I am being the condisending muscian in criticising them, but when they remark about how we need to make sure we get the rhythms correct and stay on pitch, I hope for their own sake, they are correcting themselves. Certain choir members need to remember that not everyone in the choir is as hypocritical as themselves, some of us actually know how to sing on pitch.
