Some last Florida thoughts

While in Florida I was constantly reminded of all the hurricanes that hit the area. Although the city I was staying in only got the minimal part of all the hurricanes there was still damage and stories to be told. In all of this I become currious about hurricanes. My sister's girlfreind grew up in Florida and had never seen a single one. She is in her mid thirties so in thirty some years no hurricanes hit Florida. Then all of a sudden three, or is it four, terrible hurricanes hit Florida and many surrounding states. Many people are worried that this is only the start of a series of harsh weather coming our way. One site I was reading proves a point from the christian point of view. They quote, as so many people already have, from the bible the prediction from Jesus of events that lead to his arrival. That recent events seem to fit that description. The only problem I have with this site is that it only talks about the USA. With the recent quake and Tsunamis that hit southwestern Asia and Shri Lanka, it is hard to point to one country as the "sinners" of the world. No one country should repent their sins and then have everything "normal" again. The other problem is that millions, maybe even billions?, are not christians. So how would you explain to all these other people the recent activity in the weather patterns? So many people are now pointing fingures at the global warming problem. Is this truely a problem? Michael Criton in his newest book State of Fear talks about how there really is no global warming problem. I have not personally read the book but saw a commentary and interview with him for this new book that is so different from his other thrillers. In the interview he stated that people are only crying wolf because they need funding for their research. If there is no immediate threat people tend to lose grants and funding so are not able to continue on the expensive path they currently are on. If scientist manipulate the data to make things look worse than it really is then their money troubles will not be as extreme. So what is truly going on in this crazy world of ours? Nothing good thats for sure.
