World Cup Update

I haven't been posting about the U.S. run towards playing for the World Cup. I was holding my breath hoping they would keep making just one more round.... and then one more... but seeing as how they are probably on their way home soon I think I can finally write about it. I missed the game itself against Ghana (due to a thing called a job) but did manage to catch the highlights (Thank goodness for a thing called slow days and internet access) and read about the game. I think the U.S. is doing slightly better than in years past but have yet to establish themselves as a threat. While in Italy football was the thing to do there. Each city, small and large, had their own teams that played at various levels. The U.S. is working towards that but the popularity of the games have not yet reached their full potential. I think having more support from fans will help to bring the level of sportsmanship and players like Beckham (in his prime) to our team. Now I root for Italy, my home away from home....
