How and Why I Dislike My Journaling/Painting Teacher

I am in a journaling class here in Italy and I thought it would be a good way to make me keep a journal and it has! The teacher how ever has turned a JOURNALING class in to a sketching class. I asked her at the beginning if we were not art majors or had never taken an art class before if we could focus more on the writing portion. She had said yes but now all our assignments are drawing focused and I am getting frustrated because I still do more writing than drawing but leave spaces for pictures to be put in later. I also do really creative things with pamphlets, post cards and everything else I save. The last trip we had she asked us to do 5 drawings and I had only time to do one, which was of Melissa sleeping on the train and I was extremely proud of it. I did not go to Vencie however, I went to Capri. She totally focused on the people who went to Venice and when I spoke up about my drawing I told her what it was of while getting my book open and as I started to say "I am really proud of it" she spoke over me and said "does anyone else have some drawings from Venice?" I was really hurt so closed my book and Heidi saw me and said to her, "Are we going to look at Elena's picture or just ignore her?" The teacher totally ignored Heidi.... When a teacher does that to someone it is totally demoralizing and totally wrong!! I could not help but lose the rest of the little respect I had for her.
Another instance that made me mad was yesterday when we were in the Bibliotec Communale where they had this room with a fabulous view of Macerata and the surrounding hills. We had to get special permission even to be in this room. We were given an hour to be there and when that hour was up Caroline, Heidi and I started to pack up our things so we could go back to AHA and finish our class. She told us then that we would stay another 10 minutes and that they would kick us out. She totally out stayed her welcome and acted like she owned the place. I was totally pissed because that is plain rude and plain American!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can not stress how pissed we were that she was so inconsierdate of the people who went out of their way to allow us in this place!!!!
